«It all started in Toro». Years ago, during a family trip to that town, on a night of agitated insomnia, the narrator realized that he knew nothing about his grandfather or his origins, which undoubtedly must be in Toro. The loss of memory of his father undertakes him to a trip in search of the tracks that recompose the truncated family tree. But ¿where to start? On the journey, which takes him to Havana, he imagines his grandfather, Faustino de Toro, growing up in a Spanish hospice, suffering from difficulties, and, once married and with two young children, getting lost in a ship on the way to Cuba. A flight that left in one of those children, the narrator's father, a feeling of abandonment and disaffection that will mark him throughout his life. Suddenly, the protagonist receives a letter that tries to dissuade him from continuing to delve into the past.
Seven words is an emotional and captivating narrative that runs along the indefinite border between biography and fiction.
