The Catalan Lesson

The articles collected in this book have been written during the last years in parallel to the process that lives Catalan society and Catalonia as a country. A few years ago, I thought that Catalonia could and should have been the master of Spain to build a truly federal or confederal state and a democratic and lively society. Now I do not think so anymore.

My initial curiosity for this country, which is cult, tolerant and creative, became an admiration for its civic nerve and courage. Freedom earns rightly and courageously. And everything that is happening in Catalonia is the most courageous, democratic and constructive that has happened to the Spanish state in the last forty years. A true lesson: the Catalan lesson. Who wants democracy and who loves freedom has to be in favor of Catalonia.
