Since 2009, the Catalans live a political situation as exceptional as unexpected: we are facing a historic crossroads of great importance, as it had for centuries. Such a passionate and confused moment logically leads to perplexities, doubts and fears, but historical analysis can help to understand the origins and nature of these long confrontations between Catalan citizens and political institutions.
