Barcelona is under the constant rainfall of muddy water that damages the stones of old monuments, blurs the outlines of the landscape, and turns walking into a difficult task. This is a decadent and consumerist society made up of people who are bored of living and who provide slave labor for the waves of incoming immigrants. Three of the city’s marginal characters, the murderer, the slave and the swallow observe and follow each other in an attempt to save – and perhaps love – themselves.
Aiguafang is made up of oppressive atmospheres and extreme situations. Joan-Lluís Lluís has written a raw and startling tale with bursts of tenderness.
